The purpose of Good Shepherd Learning Academy (GSLA), a ministry of Good Shephered UMC, is to provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for children which are intellectually stimulating and spiritually nurturing in a secure and loving environment. 

 

We offer:

  • Small class size, limited for individual attention.
  • Weekly chapel to teach our children about God's love through exploration and experiences. 
  • Lending library to foster reading interest. 
  • Parent involvement.
  • Cooking, science experiments, and music classes to supplement our math, reading and science curriculum.
  • Visual, Auditory, and Hands on Learning, because we all learn differently.

We are excited to welcome our new director, Eve Brumett to Good Shepherd this school year. Ms. Eve brings 25 years of experience as a director and teacher of young children as well as the latest in curriculum and teaching methods.

Our well trained and caring staff provide a creative, stimulating environment which includes socialization skills, and readiness activities. All staff members are CPR and First Aid certified and receive additional training every year in child development and early childhood teaching methods. 

Registration and monthly fees depend on age and number of classes each week. Classes meet from 9:15a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Children can be dropped off starting at 9 a.m.  Parents supply a nutritious lunch.

We are currently researching the need for extended hours to better serve the community next school year.

2's    $185      ...     ...     ... This class offers a loving and stimulating environment to help your child engage in social play, sensory exploration, music, movement, and a variety of other experiences.
3's    ...     $225     ...   ... 3's is a creative class with engaging ways to learn letter recognition and phonenic (rhyming, letter sounds) awareness.  Daily hands-on activities with manipulativves to incorporate counting and early math skills.
  4's    ...      ...  $345  $365 Pre-K is an exciting and interactive Kindergarten readiness program. Quality curriculum is used to fulfill emergent reading, writing, and math skills necessary to achieve success.


The Registration and Supply Fee is turned in with the completed pre-enrollment form.  This reserves a place for your child.  When classes are full, a waiting list will be compiled.

  • Nine monthly tuition payments are made.  To facilitate planning, the same amount is paid each month, regardless of number of school days in the month or number of days the student is in attendance.
  • 10% discount for each additional child. 
  • Tuition is due on the first of each month (Sept - May) and is late after the tenth. A late fees will apply after the 10th of the month.
